As a firm that has sold intelligent messaging solutions for mobile operators since 2007, I must admit that I still scratch my head on the mis-alignment of messaging solution vendors with mobile operators.
Session pricing is great for the solution vendor. Bad for the Operator.
Sure session pricing is easy to audit and easy to forecast but it is mis aligned with the Mobile Operator.
NOT ALL CONVERSATIONS ARE VALUABLE
An incomplete messaging session is a failure for both the mobile operator and the messaging platform provider. If the messaging session does not result in completing a task such as getting a loan, buying a bundle, trading in a phone, etc…...
Customer Care groups seek to deflect costly call center engagements while closing off and assisting clients with answers and troubleshooting. Pricing should consider or heavily favour success cases.
Your supplier should be willing to sign up to cost per resolution. No resolution, no cost.
Sales and Marketing groups seek to extend and grow LTV of their existing base and to retain clients with relevant and value based offers.
